Female police constable murdered by Russian inmates in Gaddani Prison

• Russian prisoners incapacitated the on-duty constable with a strike to the head before strangling her using a piece of rope.
• Additional IG says three women involved in the incident were detained under the Foreign Act .
• The women were kept in the prison for deportation.

(Karachi) A woman was tortured to death by female Russian inmates in Baluchistan’s Gaddani Prison on Tuesday.

Additional IG Jail Hameedullah said that the victim was identified as 23-year-old Zoya and she was discharging duties as a police constable in the female ward of the prison. He added that three female Russian prisoners incapacitated the on-duty constable with a strike to the head before strangling her using a piece of rope.

The additional IG maintained that the women involved in the incident had been kept in the prison under the Foreign Act.

Hameedullah said the accused women were kept in the jail for deportation to their country. He pointed out that a case has been registered against the said women while legal proceedings against them are under way.
