ISTANBUL: Dozens of representatives from Western and Arab countries gathered in Istanbul on Sunday for talks aimed at turning up the pressure on Syria's regime to end a deadly crackdown on opponents.
More than 70 representatives were attending the second "Friends of Syria" conference, which is also due to discuss calls by Syria's opposition to arm the rebels fighting the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
