Argentina soy prices end higher, track Chicago's gains
BUENOS AIRES: Argentina's closing soy prices and trends on Friday:
* Soy prices in Rosario closed at 1,480 pesos per tonne ($338 per tonne), versus 1,439.8 pesos in the prior session tracking gains in the Chicago market, traders said.
* Trade volume rose to 12,000 from 7,000 tonnes in the previous session.
* Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade closed higher after US Department of Agriculture's US 2012 soybean plantings figure came in below trade expectations.
* In Rosario, soybeans for May delivery, priced in US dollars, ended at $340 per tonne compared with $325 per tonne on Thursday.
* In the southern grains port of Bahia Blanca, soy rose 50 pesos to 1,450 pesos per tonne.
