CM Sindh chairs meeting of Health Department

qaim KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Thursday held the meeting of Sindh Health Department at C.M. House here.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Health Minister, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Secretary Health Sindh, Muhammad Hashim Raza Zaidi, and Secretary to C.M. Agha Jan Akhtar.

An official statement said that the meeting discussed the issues and demands of Para-Medical staff particularly the nurses with perspective to financial implications.

It was decided to form a committee of Sindh Health Minister Dr. Sagheer Ahmed and Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah which will immediately hold meeting today.

The committee will discuss the demands and problems of nurses today and will submit its recommendations henceforth.

Chief Minister directed the Sindh Health Minister to provide health facilities to needy patients without any interruption and all departments in government hospitals should function smoothly.

He said that para medical staff particularly the nurses should perform their duties with dedication and in the light of oath, they have taken while completing the course and joining the job.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah assured that the genuine problems of nurses will be solved immediately and the recommendations of ministerial committee will be upheld.

The statement said that the meeting was informed that the death of five children at JPMC due to strike of nurses is baseless as there was death of three Children there- one of those was suffering from Meningitis and was admitted in critical condition, while the other two children were on ventilation for the last few days and cause of death was not strike of nurses, and necessary enquiry has also been ordered.
