TORONTO: Toronto's main stock index sank on Tuesday and hit a near two-week low earlier in the day as mining and energy stocks were hit by fears about a slowdown in demand from top resources consumer China.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed down 49 points, or 0.39 percent, at 12,430.70.
