KARACHI: Acting Speaker Ms Shehla Raza adjourned the session till Monday (March 19, 2012) as Member Sindh Assembly belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) staged a protest in the House against what they called rising incidents of "Bhatta (money extortion) collection" in the city.
When the House begins the proceedings of the day Friday with acting Speaker Ms Shehla Raza in the chair, after recitation of Holly Qura'an and Naat, the Haq Parast MPAs holding placards started raising slogans against Bhatta mafia.
They approached rostrum and demanded the Acting Speaker to direct PA system operator to activate their microphones. The Speaker advised them to go back to their seats and show patience so that proceedings could continue.
However, they refused to listen to her and started shouting slogans. At that time, acting Speaker announced to adjourn the proceeding till Monday.
