ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday announced schedule for by-election in Sindh Assembly's constituency PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan-cum-Hyderabad (Old Hyderabad-XI).
The ECP has called upon the electors of this constituency to elect a Member to fill a seat fallen vacant due to disqualification of Syeda Waheeda Shah, a contesting candidate securing highest number of votes in by-election in that constituency held on February 25, on her conviction.
According to schedule, a public notice will be issued by the Returning Officer on March 19 and dates for filing of nomination papers with the Returning Officer by the candidates will be March 21 and 22, 2010.
Dates for Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer have been fixed for March 26 and 27, and last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer regarding rejection and acceptance of the nomination papers will be March 29, 2012.
Last date for deciding appeals by the Tribunal has been set for April 02 while last date for withdrawal of candidature will be April 03.
Publication of revised list of candidates will be made on April 4 and polling in this constituency will be held on April 26, 2012.
