Minister lauds social workers's role

LAHORE: Punjab Labour Welfare Minister Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that people who had dedicated their lives and resources to social welfare were an asset to society.

He said the government would provide cooperation and assistance to such people and NGOs.

Talking to delegations of philanthropists and notables at his office on Friday, he emphasised launching a public awareness campaign about psychological diseases.

The role of philanthropists and donors will be activated and private sector hospitals encouraged in this regard and cooperation of international donors would be sought for a better research system in the field, he added.
