KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Thursday said that the government was striving hard to provide employment opportunities to youth in all fields.
This, he said while presiding over a joint meeting of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) and Sindh Technical Education Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA).
Minister for STEVTA Abdul Salam Thaheem, Senator-elect Aajiz Dhamrah, Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP Karim Bakhsh Siddiqui, Managing Director STEVTA Abdul Wahid Uqaili, Members of Youth Development Program & Representatives of Private Sector Prominent Businessmen M/s Majyd Aziz and Islam Hameed.
The Chief Minister said that under the vision of Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and party policy to end poverty and unemployment from the society, progress on various development programs including BBSYDP is under way.
He said more than 1 lac unemployed youths were provided training in various trades under BBSYDP and urged that women should take part in this unique program.
Speaking on the occasion Senator Aajiz Dhamrah said that under the directives of the President Asif Ali Zardari youth was being imparted training in different trades to enhance their professional capabilities through various programme under BBSYDP and after completing training they are being provided employment in their respective fields on merit.
Earlier, Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP Karim Bakhsh Siddiqui and MD, STEVTA Abdul Wahid Uqaili briefed the meeting about their respective programs.
They informed that at present 1,04,174 youths have been trained in 386 trades. Besides 32060 women folks have been trained in a number of trades to make them self reliant.
They informed that 10 model institutions projects in various cities working successfully, German experts have been hired for vocational training purpose.
MoUs have also been signed with different foreign entrepreneurs and donor agencies to get funds to eliminate poverty and un-employment from the society, they informed.
