RAWALPINDI: The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Meeting (JCSC) held here on Thursday at the Joint Staff Headquarters reviewed prevailing national and regional security environment and challenges faced there in.
General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee presided over the meeting. It was attended by Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Secretary Defence, Director General Joint Staff, Director General Inter Services Intelligence, Director General Strategic Plans Division and senior military officers from the three services.
JCSC is the highest defence forum. It is held on quarterly basis to dilate upon the complete security matrix.
The forum during the current meeting reviewed the prevailing national and regional security environment and the challenges faced there in. Situation on borders was discussed threadbare and all the participants expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and the morale of the Armed Forces.
