4th Commonwealth Sindh Asia Parliamentary conference
KARACHI: The 4th Commonwealth Sindh Asia Region Parliamentary Association Conference will be held on Tuesday at a local hotel.
Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza will open the three- day conference which is scheduled to discuss regional issues specially trade barriers, terrorism and women harassment in three sessions.
Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza while addressing a press conference in Sindh Assembly building said that the first session will deliberate on trade barriers in the region and suggest ways and means to remove these barriers to promote trade.
She said that four countries from Asia are members of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the delegation from Sri Lanka headed by the Speaker of National Assembly has arrived here Monday.
She said that Bangladesh did not confirm their participation in the conference while delegation from Maldives is not arriving due to political uncertainty.
Ms Raza said that Indian delegation will also attend the conference as observer. Secretary Provincial Assembly, Hadi Bux Buriro said that 55 delegates including legislators and officials will be attending the major event which is being held for the first time in Sindh.
