HAMBURG/CAIRO: The lowest offer submitted in an international tender to buy wheat held on Friday by Egypt's state buyer GASC was $220.50 a tonne free-on-board (FOB) for wheat from the United States, traders said.
No purchase has yet been made and GASC is expected to announce the results of the tender, seeking wheat for shipment during May 20 to June 5, later on Friday.
The offer was submitted by trading house Cargill.
