ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday suggested the leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), to return the country's money accumulated through mega corruption.

A plea bargain option could be used for getting relief in the corruption cases, he stated while talking to a private news channel.

The PPP and PML-N did not have any political agenda or narrative, the minister said.

Expressing dismay over the weak policies of the PML-N, he said that the last Nawaz Sharif government could not establish any modern hospital in the country where they could get medical treatment for their ailments.

The Opposition parties had damaged the economy and the institutions during their tenures, he added.

The leaders of both the PML-N and PPP were involved in mega corruption cases, Fawad stated.

The information minister said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) , government was making efforts to rectify the basic flaws for reviving the economy.

He said the problems of price hike could be addressed, if Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif returned the looted money of the country.

In reply to a question he said accountability process was imperative for uplifting the economy.

Fawad said that economy and accountability were interlinked. Favoring equality and justice, he said the poor and rich should have a balanced system.

Commenting on the judgment given to Sharif family, he said we have reservation over the relief being awarded to them in their cases.

He said that inmates in jail should get the facilities and treatment on equality basis.

About heavy loans taken by the previous governments of PPP and PML-N, he said a huge amount was spent in the past, but no visible progress and changes were seen in the country.

The present government, he said was giving Rs 45 billion subsidy to facilitate the masses.

To a question he said the country's exports were increasing and the imports were decreasing.

Loans amounting to 60 billion dollars were taken during the last regimes of PPP and PML-N but no visible development projects were seen in the country, he observed.

The PTI government approached the friendly countries soon after coming into power, he said adding that the present leadership was trying to strengthen the national economy.
