 KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Wednesday said that Karachi was the economic Hub of the country and provided ample opportunities for foreign investments as law & order situation had improved, which was conducive to socio-economic activities.

Talking to a delegation of JS global group, which called on him at the Governor House, the governor welcomed the American investors to invest in different sectors, which would also help in reducing the unemployment and poverty from the province particularly Karachi.

American investment would also increase the prosperity of the region, according to a press release.

He elaborated that investors could invest in energy, infrastructure development, education and health and other sectors to get more profits.

Imran Ismail said that many multinational companies were interested to increase their investments because they were doing their business successfully in the metropolis.

CEO JS Global Capital Limited Kamran Nasir informed that JS Global Group Headquarters was located in Los Angeles, USA and it was

one of the largest private sector active portfolio manager in the world. The Capital Group manages more than US$ 1.7 trillion assets under management. The Capital Group had been investing in Pakistan for more than 25 years. While active even today, the recent set of change in country's leadership with Imran Khan taking over the premiership, the Capital Group had shown renewed interest in Pakistan given government's focused efforts toward providing a positive business climate and making Pakistan as one of the leading and most attractive emerging markets in the world.

He further said that the delegates were based in London, Hong Kong, Geneva, Los Angeles and Washington DC and managed or provided inputs to global portfolios. They had met big business firms, banks, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and important government functionaries. They told him that the delegatio would also meet Prime Minister and Federal Finance Minister during their visit.

Counsul General of United States JoAnne Wagner and British Deputy High Commissioner Elin Burns also accompanied the delegation, which was headed by CEO of JS Capital Pakistan Kamran Nasir. The delegation also included Michael Thawley, Arthur Caye, Freitas Luis, Ric Torres, Stephen Green, Talha Khan and Wahid Butt.
