Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday appealing for pre-arrest bail in the money laundering through fake accounts case.

In their petition, the siblings request the high court to grant them pre-arrest bail till the conclusion of the case. The duo has also requested the IHC for a list of all the cases the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating them in.

Zardari stated in his petition that he has received three summons from NAB in the case and he does not know how many inquires are being carried against him. He added that the bureau could arrest him in any of the cases and that is why he has approached the high court for pre-arrest bail, local media reported.

On March 19, Zardari and Talpur were granted a 10-day protective bail by the Sindh High Court (SHC) and were ordered to submit Rs1 million as surety bonds.

NAB has been investigating Zardari, Talpur, Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza and other responsible in the fake accounts case.
