Govt. to come hard against parents refusing polio drops to their kids

PESHAWAR: Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yusafzai Tuesday said the government would take tough decisions against the parents refusing to give oral polio drops to their children as the provincial government would not allow anyone to play with the future of the innocent children.
The information minister said this while talking to media men here in connection with the ongoing anti polio drive.
Polio drops were meant to stop children from getting disabled for life. Majority of the countries got themselves rid of this disease but unfortunately negative propaganda in our country against the anti polio drive was still on.
Foreign travel embargo would be put in place against Pakistan if a single case of polio was reported in the country, he feared.
The government was taking every possible measure for the eradication of this crippling disease. However, some parents who refused to give oral drops to their kids had made efforts of the organizations and the government engaged in its eradication as futile.
Depriving children from the oral polio drops was not only dangerous but it spoke of a particular mindset as well.
