PESHAWAR: National Highway Authority (NHA) and district administration Peshawar demolished more than 20 illegal constructions including shops and houses in a joint anti-encroachment operation at Regi Lalma.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr, Imran Hamid Sheikh, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sara Rehman directly supervised the operation and remained on the spot.
The Land Collector NHA, Gul Said, Assistant Director, Ahmad Usman and other officers also participated in the operation.
During the operation over 20 illegal constructions were demolished through heavy machinery while a heavy contingent of police was also deployed to avert any unpleasant incident.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar has reiterated that the anti-encroachment operation would continue and action would be initiated in other districts.
