CTP educating citizens about traffic rules, road safety

He said the parents, students of different schools, colleges, universities and other citizens were being guided that under-age driving was dangerous which must be avoided. The CTP had also displayed banners to guide the road users about traffic rules on important roads of the town, he added.

The CTP under their special awareness campaign launched for the safety of the road users and better flow of traffic were creating awareness about under-age driving. The awareness pamphlets were also being distributed among the citizens, he added.

The students were being informed about the traffic rules and road safety measures, he said adding, mobile Education Unit of CTP was arranging special briefing sessions on underage driving at different points.

In order to make the campaign more effective and meaningful traffic wardens and officers had been issued special instructions, he said and informed that Education Wing of Traffic police had been making efforts to spread awareness so that the road journey could be made safe and sound.

The CTO said that many unfortunate incidents took place due to the driving of underage who were not aware of traffic rules and regulations of the roads. Traffic rules should not be violated as such violation with negligent driving may lead to fatal accidents, he added.
