FIA prevents Omni Group head's daughter in law to proceed abroad

ISLAMABAD: Noor Nimar Majeed, daughter in law of Omni Group Head Annwar Majeed, Tuesday pleaded before Islamabad High Court (IHC) for removal of her name from exist control list (ECL) if it had been placed on it as she had been prevented to proceed abroad from Karachi airport.

The counsel for petitioner Raja Rizwan Abbasi Advocate said Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) informed his client while she was boarding aboard from Jinnah International Airport that she was not allowed to leave the country as her family members were involved in money laundering case.

He said his client had not been clarified yet either her name was on ECL or not. After hearing the arguments, the court served notices to FIA director general and interior ministry to submit reply within 10 days.
