Suspected staffers arrested in case of deaths at guest house

KARACHI: Nine staffers of a guest house were arrested for their suspected negligence in a case of deaths of six members of a family included five children, which had occurred last month (February 21), here.
Deputy Inspector General of South Zone - Karachi, Sharjeel Kharal claimed it in a press conference at Saleem Wahidi Auditorium on Wednesday.
He said that nine accused named Nadeem Akhtar Shaikh, Mehram Ali Barohi, Zakir Hussain, Sikandar Hayat, Sanobar Khan, Abdul Hameed, Perwez Bhatti, Nisar Awan and Sajjad Hussain were taken into custody on account of showing the negligence. These persons could also be formally arrested, he added.
He said that the toxic material, which was found inside the hotel, was made only for use in open spaces and the sites of greenery. This toxic material was being used for fumigation inside the hotel for last six years, he added.
The DIG South Zone said that this type of toxic material were not manufactured for domestic purposes.
