North Korea agrees to halt nuclear tests, missile launches

SINGAPORE: North Korea has agreed to a moratorium on nuclear tests, long-range missile launches and enrichment of uranium at its Yongbyon nuclear facility, the North's KCNA news agency said on Wednesday.

The North would also allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to monitor the moratorium on enrichment, the news agency said.

It said North Korea had made the decisions in response to a US request and "with a view to maintaining positive atmosphere" for what it described as high-level North Korean US talks.
