KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Women Wing Central President, Ms. Faryal Talpur, has congratulated Sharmeen Obaid for winning Oscar Award on her documentary.
She described it is as a great achievement on the part of Pakistan women.
This was told by Pakistan Peoples Party Women Wing Sindh Secretary Information, Ms. Sharmila Faruqui, in a statement issued here on Monday.
She said that the present democratic government was committed to empower the women as prescribed by Islam, Pakistan's constitution and ethics as well and had given all due rights to the women, She added.
Women like Sharmeen Obaid are a beacon light for Pakistan women. Girls like Malala Yousuf Zai and women like Sharmeen Obaid had given the message of peace and hope to the world.
Sharmila said Pakistanis are peace loving nation and they are against terrorism and extremism.
She said that Pakistani women were second to none in talent and if proper opportunities were provided they could bring good name for the country.
