425 arrested in campaign against illegal weapons

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir said that police had registered 425 cases and arrested 425 people in a campaign against illegal weapons last month.

The police have recovered three Kalashnikovs, 13 rifles, 28 guns, 347 pistols, 17 revolvers, two carbines, one mauzers, six daggers, 61 magazines and hundreds of bullets.

The CCPO said the crackdown against illegal weapons to rid the city of crime and criminal elements should be intensified. He said concrete steps were being taken to make police corruption-free so that people were provided with speedy justice.
