Karachiites thronged water parks, public parks, food restaurant and seaside with their families to fully enjoy Eid holidays. The parks and other places remained crowded on the first, second and third day of Eid as a large number of people were seen newly-built Askari amusement park, Alladin Park, water parks and seaside.
Children clad in colorful dresses were enjoying different games, swings, snacks, cold drinks and ice creams at these points. They spent the first day of Eid offering special Eid prayers on Saturday. Having greeted relatives, friends and near and dear ones, the citizens went to numerous parks and seaside on the second and third day of Eid.
The reason behind fun-making at the parks and seaside on the Eid was that the schoolchildren were free due to summer vacation but could not go out to picnic places because of Ramazan, the sacred month in which Muslims observe fast. Therefore, they celebrated Eidul Fitr with double enjoyment.
The fact that life guards manned the beaches to ensure implementation of restrictions imposed by the administration on swimming and bathing in sea water did not seem to dampen the spirits of the picnickers. The beaches rightly considered to be Karachi's major attraction point have been drawing people from rest of the country since two provinces of the country have no sea.
Water parks around the city come next as far as the place of attraction is concerned. Specially, children and youth love to go there. The city zoo, Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim and Hill Park were among other busy recreational places of the city.
Local singers were seen entertaining the visitors, especially youngsters, with their songs at these points. Some youths were also dancing to the tune of traditional and popular songs. However, many families visiting the parks of the city complained of over-charging, sale of substandard food items and non-availability of quality products.
