On the complaint of Ayesha Ahad, who claims to be married with Shahbaz Sharif's son Hamza, the Islampura police has registered a case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz and others. Others named in the case are Zulfiqar Cheema, Inspector Ateeq Dogar, former Inspector General Police Rana Maqbool and Imran Yousuf.
In her complaint, Ayesha contended that she and her daughter are facing threat from Hamza Shahbaz. She approached the Supreme Court, which ordered the IG Punjab to ensure safety of Ayesha Ahad and adjourned the hearing of the case until June 29.
The case has been filed under sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), 337 (hurt and injuries), 354 (molestation with sexual motive) of the Pakistan Penal Code and sections 149 (rioting armed with deadly weapon) and 511 (attempting to commit punishable offences) of Code of Criminal Procedure.
The spokesman of Hamza has termed Ayesha Ahad's accusations as baseless. She had levelled the same accusations in 2014 in the court of law but was unable to present any evidence.
