an exciting job fair on Wednesday offered opportunities to graduates and students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam belong to different fields. Students were offered to be registered with lending banks for jobs during the fair.
The event jointly organised by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam, which besides graduates, attracted sufficient number of farmers, representatives of financial institutions, companies related to agriculture crops production, seeds, fertilizer, teachers, livestock and dairy business and entrepreneurs.
All the banks and companies set up stalls in the premises and received registration forms from interested graduates for job process.
SAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujeebuddin Memon Sahrai in his speech said agriculture economy has its role and this university covers entire fields related to crops, livestock, poultry, water, soil and fisheries.
Lauding the job fair, he said it is a great opportunity for students to show talent and compete in the job market. He asked students to register them with banks at their stalls set up here and show talent to join appropriate jobs.
"We are doing such activities frequently, encouraging cadre to learn more. In the job fair almost all the banks and financial institutions have set up their stalls to attract graduates. Now is the responsibility of interested graduates to come with criteria with hard work," he added.
The VC asked students that they can avail these opportunities when you could be capable to show commitment and talent.
"We know challenges face students in job market as it is a competitive era. You have a lot of expectations but should come with knowledge and quality education and talent to enjoy the life luxuries," he said.
He got the students realised that it was time when parliamentarians, MNAs, MPAs, Senators offer support to graduates of their constituencies at that time. But now the time has gone and this era needs competition.
He said presently public sector does not have more jobs to accommodate all the graduates. Thus they should come with hard work and commitment to compete for private sector jobs, which may offer more salary packages compared to public sector.
Senior Joint Director SBP Ikramullah Qadri lauded the participation of graduates and students in the event to show interest to avail opportunities in the job market.
He also shared the contribution of job fair, which is tool to select potential graduates in the fields of business, agriculture and relevant fields for financial institutions to meet potential of Sindh.
