Money laundering notice damaged NAB's image badly: Shahbaz

Reacting sharply over the NAB's notice regarding alleged US $ 4.9 billion money laundering by Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said the whole nation is in quandary over this action which has weakened the credibility of NAB as an institution.
"I am hopeful that the Chairman NAB would take notice of it as to who has initiated this step which has damaged the NAB's image badly," Shahbaz said while talking to media on Wednesday.
He criticized NAB for taking notice over some alleged reports that the State Bank and World Bank has already denied. To another question, he said that independents that had joined the PML-N after the elections of 2013 have left the party. When asked about Ch Nisar Ali, he said that Nisar is the senior most leader who enjoys a particular position in the party. "Nisar is my friend and he is respectable to me as well. It is my request that he should not get emotional."
Regarding attack on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, he said this tragic incident has made us a laughing stock before the world. "We have to review the facts of this incident because societal behavior having the tendencies of fanaticism and lack of tolerance is very dangerous. It is needed to control them for eradication of such incidents in future and all the stakeholders should jointly find the solution of it," he said.
To another question, Shahbaz said he has already pointed that Zardari House and Bani Gala are one and the same thing. "Khan Sahib himself confessed that he was offered 400 millions of rupees in the Senate elections. He talks of making one Pakistan instead of two but he should, at least give even a single example which could prove that he has taken any step towards making one Pakistan in KPK. "Niazi Sahib is speaking lies day and night and leveling allegations has become a habit of Imran Niazi."
Shahbaz said that all the stakeholders including judiciary, military and political leadership, people as well as the administration have to collectively achieve the goal of national development and prosperity because the country can never move forward without employing joint struggles.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority Science Enclave project adjacent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency at Thokar Niaz Beg. This project will be completed in March 2019 with a cost of Rs 4 billion. He also laid the foundation stone of training laboratory of Punjab Forensic Science Agency which will be completed in coming November with a cost of Rs 1 billion.
Addressing on the occasion, Shahbaz appreciated that an important step has been taken with regard to criminal investigations and scientific research through these projects. He expressed the hope that Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority Science Enclave will start working from the beginning of the next year while the training lab project will be completed in November this year.
He informed that work is being carried out with speed on both the projects and Rs 2 billion have been spent till now. It is hoped that both the projects will be functional at the start of next year and after their completion in March 2019 - three institutions will independently work under one roof.
