After remaining in session for 3 days, 7th Saarc Neurosurgery Conference ended here at a local hotel where neurosurgeons from Pakistan and Russia, United Kingdom, Italy, Maldive, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and United Arab Emirates participated. Neurosurgeons from other countries widely appreciated and acknowledged the research and modern techniques adopted by Pakistani medical experts and said that indeed Pakistan is far ahead in this regard and DBS and now neurosurgery of brain tumors while the patients is in senses are great achievements.
In the concluding sessions other scientific different sessions took place where Senator Salim Zia was chief guest who also appreciated the holding of such conference which provides platform to young doctors and medical students to come forward in the field of research and opt modern treatment for the patients.
Chairman Pakistan Society of Neurosurgery Professor Anwar Chaudhary congratulated all the participants' especially foreign delegates who gave their full attention towards neuro diseases and presented their solutions. He said that this conference was a successful event where 150 research papers were presented, 8 workshops and 14 different sessions were held in which local and foreigner doctors expressed their full interest.
Professor of Surgery Dr Khalid Mahmood said that for holding this conference through collaboration of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences is great achievement. He said that this institution one of its own kind in the region has such operation theatres which are not available even in any private hospital where international principles of infection free atmosphere are strictly observed. Professor Anwar, Professor Khalid, and Dr Babar Butt said that arrival of senior doctors from other countries in Pakistan proves that this country is peaceful and has congenial atmosphere for any international events.
This 7th Saarc Neurosur-gery was addressed by different doctors who not only read their research papers but also performed live neurosurgery. Doctors from United States of America took participation through Skype while light was thrown on endoscopic and other technical issued of brain and neurosurgery and question answer session was also held. All speakers hailed the role of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences and said that such achievements have been done which would be sufficient for the coming doctors of 100 years in the medical field.
