Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan seized 2.66 tons narcotics and 1.92 tons prohibited chemical valuing Rs 4.12 Billion internationally, arrested 32 persons including 3 women involved in drug trafficking and impounded 10 vehicles while conducting 27 counter-narcotics strikes across the country. According to ANF spokesman, the seized drugs comprised 2030 Kg Opium, 547 Kg Hashish, 83 Kg Heroin, 3 Kg Methamphetamine, 1.24 Kg Amphetamine and 1920 Kg Acetone.
He said ANF Lahore carried out six operations and recovered various quantities of hashish, heroin, and arrested several drug traffickers in central Punjab. ANF Quetta while carrying out intelligence based operation at mountainous area of district Washuk seized 1080 Kg Opium and 46 Kg Heroin. ANF Quetta intercepted a car near Meezan chowk, Quetta and recovered 10 Kg Hashish from secret cavities of the car. ANF Quetta raided a site located in the mountainous area of district Gawadar and seized 185 Kg Hashish. ANF Quetta recovered 939 Kg Opium from desolate site situated in district Qilla Abdullah.
It intercepted a land cruiser near Palantak, district Panjgur and seized 15 Kg Heroin concealed in improvised vehicle. ANF Quetta while raiding a deserted hut in district Panjgur seized 10 Kg Heroin. It recovered 213 Kg Hashish in District Pishin; most of the stocked drugs were intended to be handed over to other narcotics gangs.
ANF Rawalpindi intercepted two motorcycles in Attock and recovered 10.5 Kg Opium and 2 Kg Hashish from the drug smugglers. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 10 Kg Hashish from secret cavities of a car and arrested two persons. ANF Peshawar during routine profiling near motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar arrested one resident of Khyber Agency along with 600 Gram Hashish, and a woman resident of Peshawar trafficking 2.4 Kg Hashish. ANF Peshawar Airport Team detained a passenger resident of Nowshehra while he was boarding for Riyadh and recovered 1.24 Kg Amphetamine.
It also recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from possession of a resident of Peshawar; in all it carried out six operation during this period. ANF Karachi in pursuance of an information raided a private godown situated near Custom House, KPT Ground, Karachi and seized a shipment containing 3.2 Kg Heroin. In another operation, ANF Karachi in collaboration with Pakistan Rangers Sindh recovered 70 Kg Hashish and arrested two persons both residents of Karachi. Yet in another operation, ANF Karachi raided a private godown located in the area of West Wharf, Karachi and seized 1920 Kg Acetone from the premises. Two persons, residents of Karachi were taken into custody.
The chemical was contained in 32 Jerry canes. In fourth operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug supplier resident of Khairpur and recovered 2 Kg Hashish from his personal possession. In fifth operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug peddler resident of Tando Muhammad Khan and recovered 1.05 Kg Hashish from his possession. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
