Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is endeavoring to help solve the trade related problems being faced by the exporters in perspective of enhancing the level of exports of the country. Mian Riaz Ahmed, Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Lahore stated this while talking to a four member delegation of Meat Association who called on him at TDAP office Lahore.
The DG said that we are committed to address the exporters' issues and in this regard, mutual efforts by the government and the exporters will help in solving the grave concerns of the exporters. The DG further said that under Emerging Pakistan initiative as envisaged by Younus Dagha, secretary commerce is a way forward in focusing and projecting the products of the country abroad which will subsequently help in enhancing the trade volume of the country.
On this occasion, one of the delegates Mian Abdul Manan apprised the DG about the unnecessary delays in the issuing of Quarantine Certificate due to holidays and weekends are the biggest hurdles in the timely supply of meat export consignments. The delegates also apprised the DG about the concerns of the exporters of meat is the non issuance of visa from countries like Saudia Arabia and pointed out those major markets for meat are the Middle Eastern countries. The delegates also lamented the role of commercial sections abroad about whom they said, do not respond and cooperate properly and as per exporters export related requirements.
The DG assured the delegates to address their concerns in consultation with all the stakeholders. The DG also apprised the delegates about those efforts which TDAP is making for the facilitation of the exporters through delegations and exhibitions abroad.
