Pakistan men and women teams recorded victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Asian Team Squash Championship in South Korea on Thursday. According to detail available here, Pakistan in the men event defeated Sri Lankan team by 3-0. In the first singles Tayyab Aslam recorded effortless victory against Gihan Suwaris at 11-2, 11-5, 11-5. Tayyub Aslam dominated the proceedings and did not give much time to Sri Lankan rival Gihan Suwaris to strike back.
It was in the second singles when Amaad Fareed beat Ravindu Laksiri gave each other a tough fight, specially in the first set when both were tied 8-8, 9-9, 10-10 and at 12-10 Amaad Fareed won the game. Amaad Fareed saved two set points before winning the game. In the second and third games Amaad Fareed dominated the battle and secured 11-5 and 11-5 victory.
In the third singles M. Asim Khan defeated Druvinka Perera in another game by 11-5, 11-6, 11-9 and thus Pakistan had an easy sailing to the next round after 3-0 victory.
In the women event Pakistan defeated Thailand by 3-0.
Madina Zafar beat Anantana Prasertratanakul 11-4, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5 in a thrilling four sets battle. Madina Zafar faced some resistance but overall she dominated the proceedings and did not let her rival to stage a comeback.
In the second singles Faiza Zafar recorded very easy victory against Tuddaw Thamronglarp at 11-7, 11-1, and 11-1 and in the last singles Riffat Khan beat Suvipa Kitvijarn by 11-2, 11-3, and 11-7.
