The Karachi Port handled 165,156 tonnes of cargo comprising 120,962 tonnes of import cargo and 44,194 tonnes of export cargo including 3,545 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 120,962 tonnes comprised of 20,238 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,724 tonnes of bulk cargo; 20,600 tonnes of coal and 78,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 44,194 tonnes comprised of 25,257 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,425 tonnes of bulk cargo and 17,512 tonnes of wheat. As many as 3,545 containers comprising of 1,527 containers import and 2,018 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 639 of 20's and 271 of 40's loaded while 152 of 20's and 97 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 693 of 20's and 283 of 40's loaded containers while 413 of 20's and 173 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely Wan Hai-510, Maliakos, Hansa Regensburg, SG Jupiter and Silver Etrema carrying containers, oil tanker and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Wan Hai-510, Hansa Regensburg, Polo, Carlini, Sbi Leo, Bao Tong Giovanni, Caribbean Highway and Karina Danica carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 169,153 tonnes comprising 118,326 tonnes of import cargo and 50,827 tonnes of export cargo including 2,676 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 118,326 tonnes includes 1,739 tonnes of LPG; 3,808 tonnes of palm kernel; 68,185 tonnes of coal; 19,281 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 25,213 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 50,827 tonnes includes 3,345 tonnes of rice, 21,851 tonnes of condensate and 25,631 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,676 containers comprising of 1,327 containers import and 1,349 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were five ships namely CV Teno, MV Thor Maxmimum, MV GH Storm Cat, MT Caspian Gas and MT Totono Bottiglieri carrying containers, coal, LPG and condensate respectively sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Teno, MV Sea Meray, MV Totono Bottiglieri, MV Agri Princess, MV GH Storm Cat, MV Thor Maxmimum, MV Baltic Panther, MT Caspian Gas and MT African Macaw were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, condensate, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV Hugo Schulte, MV Soho Trader, MV Du Juan Song, MV Vinalines Brave, MV TVS Beach Wood, MV Serene Juniper, MV Nikolas-III, MV Parnsos, MV Makiki, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Dasma, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Jo Pinari and MT Red Eagle carrying containers, talcum powder, general cargo, coal, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were four vessels viz. CV Hugo Schulte, CV San Felix, CV Songa Calabria, MV Vinalines Brave and MV YM Miranda carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were eleven ships namely CV Express Black Sea, CV San Felix, CV Songa Calabria, MV YM Miranda, MV Sea Fortune, MV Hong Kong, MV Maritime Setoshio, MV Industrial Century, MT Al Oraiq, MT Adam and MT JO Pinari carrying containers, chemical, coal, project cargo, LNG and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
There are three ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV Libra and MV Cherry Dream carrying containers and steel coil respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while another ship namely CV MS Tigrt carrying containers is due to arrive on Sunday.
