On the invitation of Oman Medical Speciality Board, a delegation of the College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) led by its president Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry paid a visit to Sultanate of Oman and had a series of meetings with stakeholders during which it was resolved that the CPSP would collaborate with Oman in training of health professionals.
President CPSP was accompanied by DGIR Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Director National Residency Programme (North) Professor Aamer Zaman Khan, Pervaiz Bashir, Advisor to President and Shahzad Abid, Director Information Technology. The CPSP delegation had meeting with Dr Hilal Ali Hilal Al-Sabti, president of Oman Medical Speciality Board who was accompanied by Programme Director including Professor Neela Al Lakmi, Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr Yousef Al Weshahi, Director, Continuing Professional Development, Dr Abdullah Ali Al Maniri, Director of Planning, Studies and Information, Dr Saif Ali Yaarubi, Director of International Cooperation Department.
Dr Hilal welcomed the CPSP delegation and desired for mutual cooperation. President CPSP Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry gave presentation on national and international updates of CPSP. The DGIR, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal gave a presentation of e-log system. The Director, NRP (N) Professor Aamer Zaman Khan highlighted CPSP examination / assessment system and Director IT Shahzad Abid presented information on technology updates. President and Director of Oman Medical Speciality Board discussed their system, international accreditation and updates.
Both Presidents agreed upon close collaboration and President CPSP extended support especially for strengthening of IT and evaluation system of Oman Medical Speciality Board. CPSP delegation also visited the simulation centre of Oman Medical Speciality Board. CPSP delegation had a meeting with Minister for Health Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al-Saidi, who was accompanied by Hanadi Jamaan Al Rajab, Director International Relations & Organizations.
The Health Minister mentioned that Oman Medical Speciality Board headed by President will visit CPSP soon as follow-up meetings on areas of mutual interest. The ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, Ali Javed hosted lunch in honour of the CPSP delegation. The ambassador highly appreciated the national and international contributions of CPSP and extended full cooperation on behalf of embassy.
