Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has appealed to the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to re-affirm their commitment to be ready to offer any sacrifice for up-holding the just cause of the people of Kashmir and make their long cherished dream of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialized.
Ensuring complete unity and cohesion in our ranks in this critical juncture of our history is in itself will be of a great source of strength to our Kashmiri brethren and I also appeal my countrymen to be conscious in this connection too. This he has said in a message on the eve of 5th February - the Kashmir Day.
He said, "We as a nation observe 5th February, 2018 as a Day of Solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren who have been struggling for the last 70 years to secure right of self-determination and ultimately achieve their just goal of freedom.
The day offers the opportunity to Kashmiri people across the world to realize the world community at large especially the human rights champions about their role not only in mitigating the sufferings of Kashmiri people but also extend moral and diplomatic support to them in their long cherished dreams of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialized.
Being the staunch supporters of Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle, we as a Pakistani nation have been offering matchless sacrifices and courageously raising and supporting their just cause at every forum both within the country and abroad.
The governor said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA having their comparatively closer practical association with the Kashmiri brethren ever since their basic right of self-determination was usurped by the then Hindu Maharaja at the behest of his Indian mentors 70 years ago still nourishing un-flinching attachment in their hearts and souls for them.
