More than 13 incidents of various kinds of thefts, burglary and snatching at gunpoint were reported to various police stations of Islamabad during the last week, depriving citizens of valuables worth million of rupees. According to data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIR), different police stations of the city registered five cases of theft and two cases each of kidnapping and murder during the period under review.
During the last week, most favourite areas for criminal gangs were within the limits of Aabpara and Ramna police stations. Ramna police station registered three cases of theft and burglary. One Owais Ali lodged a complaint with Ramna police station that robbers stole cash, gold ornaments, LED and other valuables from his house.
Another Shamim Arshad lodged a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown accused stole mobile phone, gold and cash from his house. During another incident, one Shahid Ullah lodged a complaint with the same police station that unknown bandits stole cash, jewellery, laptop and a 9mm pistol from his house.
Aabpara police station registered three cases. A dead body of newborn baby was recovered from the jurisdiction of the Aabpara police station. One Aqeel Abbas lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that the accused Shah Ji, Abdullah and Muhammad snatched cash from him at gunpoint. One Haider lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that unknown people stole his coat containing ATM card and the accused had withdrawn Rs 98,000 from his bank account.
During the last week, Karachi Company police station registered one case each of robbery and snatching, Golra police station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping, and Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of murder and robbery. Khanna police station registered one case each of auto theft and robbery. Tarnol and Koral police stations registered one case each of auto theft. Shahzad Town and women police stations registered one case each of robbery during the last week.
