LCCI chief for businessmen's maximum participation in global trade fairs
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Malik Tahir Javed, on his return from Germany after 15-day visit on Saturday, said Pakistani entrepreneurs should ensure maximum participation in the international trade fairs and exhibitions to enhance their exposure about the fast changing trend in international trade.
Terming his visit to Germany as well as meetings with German counterparts very productive, Javed said he invited the German investors to avail the trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan through joint ventures with their Pakistani counterparts. He also praised the efforts made by certain German organizations especially in the field of technical and vocational training in Pakistan. He added that Pakistan and Germany are steady trading partners heading towards finding new avenues of trade and investment.
"Germany is one of a few trillion economies in the world and one of the major trading partners of Pakistan in European Union (EU)," he said, adding: "Trade between the two countries has been growing steadily for the past many years with many German companies-including the world renowned Siemens-currently having their operations in Pakistan. Germany has earned respectable name in the field of alternative energy solutions in the world," he said.
The LCCI president said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers a lot of international investors as well. It goes without saying that any project initiated in Pakistan will automatically result in creating business opportunities that can be extended to the regional countries including Central Asian States (CAS), he added.
