Turkish Airlines (TA) is offering Umrah Plus package-'One ticket-Two Countries' for intended Pakistani Umrah pilgrims. Talking to Business Recorder, Fateh Atacan TEMEL General Manager Turkish Airlines (TA) in Karachi at TA's stall in the Pakistan's biggest international travel and tourism expo being organized at Karachi Expo Centre, he said: "the main purpose to participate in this exhibition is to support Pakistan tourism industry as this is the first time when travel mart is being held in Pakistan and this type of event needs to be supported at large."
In addition, TA is also promoting Turkey as the number of tourists from Pakistan is on rise; Fateh said, adding that around 45000 Pakistani tourists visited Turkey during last nine months of current year, depicting 25 per cent growth as compared to the figures of last preceding period.
Elaborating about the offers for travelers from Pakistan, he said that TA is offering 'Exclusive Drive' for Pakistani passengers, traveling to US and Canada. They can avail Limousine service on arrival at their final destination to their houses or hotels and this service is likely to be introduced for Pakistani passengers to London.
Fateh said that Pakistani passengers were already enjoying TA's Stopover service where they were availing 'free accommodation with transit visa (one day for Economy class and two days for Business class) in Istanbul' to the Pakistani passengers, traveling to UK, Ireland and Schengen countries. Moreover, he said that similar free accommodation offer had been introduced for intended Pakistani Umrah pilgrims in which they could get free hotel accommodation in Istanbul and could grab an opportunity to tour the historical places of Roman & Ottoman eras and experience the fine blend of old and modern Turkey in a city of mosques during Umrah trip. Furthermore, he said that every year, we promoted one city of Turkey for tourism and now Konya, a final home of Maulana Rumi, was on the list and for the purpose, travel agents from Konya were brought in this exhibition.
Needless to mention, this three-day Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM), started from November 24, 2017, is being considered as biggest travel and tourism event, which would help local tourism industry affected by terrorism for over a decade to get momentum again by showcasing country's rich culture to the foreign and local exhibitors and visitors.
