Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures to boost investments and create an investment friendly environment in the province. China and Pakistan are long-term partners and share a mutual desire to widen their relationship. Director General of Sichuan's Geological and Natural Resources Bureau, Wang Jian shared his views while visiting Punjab Board of Investment and Trade.
CEO PBIT Jahanzeb Burana greeted the high level Chinese delegation and discussed the areas of cooperation. Sichuan province is demonstrating a great deal of interest in deepening its ties with Punjab as Lahore and Chengdu already have sister-city relationship. Director General Sichuan stated that Chengdu's Chamber of commerce is working studiously to start direct flight between Lahore and Chengdu and are eager to establish a Hi-Tech Industrial Park worth 100 billion RMB stating the fact that in years ahead CPEC and OBOR initiatives will open up huge opportunities for both countries in number of areas. Moreover the establishment aimed to promote partnerships as well as economic collaboration between Chinese and Pakistani communities.
A detailed discussion over the partnership between the two countries including existing as well as new potential projects was held between the delegation and the PBIT team. Addressing the meeting, CEO PBIT stated that being an ideal destination, Punjab offers shareholders a multitude of investment opportunities, by virtue of not only being the most developed province of Pakistan, but also one blessed with an abundant workforce. He briefed the representatives on diverse investment opportunities available in Punjab especially in mineral/mining sector.
Jahanzeb Burana highlighted the incentives for investors and the initiatives of Punjab government to make the business environment more conducive. He assured the delegation members of complete facilitation regarding the feasibility of the project. Wang Jian said China values the initiatives of Punjab government for investment friendly environment. He shared his vision that such partnerships and endeavors are taking the countries into a new era of creativity and growth. They appreciated the efforts made by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for making Punjab as an emerging market all around the globe.
