US Plains HRW wheat bids steady

Hard red winter (HRW) wheat spot basis bids around the southern US Plains on Tuesday were steady as farmers watched futures shrug off some of Monday's declines, dealers said. Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) K.C. December HRW wheat settled up 4-1/4 cents at $4.20-1/4 a bushel, led by the weaker dollar and a dip in US crop ratings. News of radioactive pollution in the Ural Mountains triggered a round of short-covering and concern about wheat exports from Russia - the world's top supplier.
