Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Friday claimed to have recovered substantial quantity of foreign currency from two female passengers travelling to UAE. According to details, both female passengers, who were travelling to UAE via flight EK-601, were intercepted at departure hall and were asked to declare foreign currency or any contraband item, if it was in their possession.
On their refusal, the staff posted at airport frisked both passengers and recovered substantial quantity of foreign currency - 120,500 Riyal, 50,000 Dirham & 500,000 Yens, which were concealed in their cloths. Customs officials said that both passengers were taken into custody and department took their three-day remand. Further investigation was under way.
