The National Day of Pakistan was celebrated at a graceful ceremony at embassy of Pakistan in Warsaw, said a press release on Friday. The Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland, Dr Khalid Hussain Memon raised the Pakistan flag on the tune of the National Anthem in presence of the Pakistani community, Pakistani students studying in Polish Universities and Embassy officials and their families.
During the flag hoisting ceremony which was moderated by Deputy Head of Mission Shafaat Ahmad Kaleem, the messages of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were read out by the Ambassador and deputy head of mission respectively. Pakistan's Embassy was also witness of a separate gathering participated by the Polish political figures including parliamentarians and Warsaw-based foreign diplomats on the occasion of Pakistan's Day.
In his remarks at the diplomatic reception, the Ambassador Khalid Memon said that resolute of 23 March 1940 was an important milestone in the historical struggle of the Muslims of South Asia for an independent land. Seven years after the Pakistan Resolution, a sovereign state of Pakistan became independent under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. During his speech, the Pakistani Ambassador also emphasised over need for close cooperation between Pakistan and Poland.
