Pakistan Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Mohmand Agency on Thursday with a call that tribesmen will continue their struggle for peace in the area which has been badly affected by the ongoing conflict. On this occasion Political Agent (PA) Mahmood, Aslam Wazir, Assistant Political Agent (APA) Lower Mohmand, Naveed Akbar Khan, Lieutenant Colonel Umair, APA Hameedulah, players and tribal elders were also present.
Special prayers were offered at Fajar in all mosques of the agency with prayers for peace, prosperity and solidarity of the motherland. Political Agent Mahmood Aslam Wazir hoisted the national flag at a formal ceremony at the Agency Headquarter Ghalanai. Addressing on the occasion Political Agent Mahmood Aslam Wazir said that tribesmen presented valuable scarifies to make a separate country for the Muslims of subcontinent. Joint efforts will continue till complete peace is restored in the area. He said that due to the sacrifices rendered by security forces and tribal elders' situation has remarkably improved.
It will be mentioned here that 3rd Mohmand Sports Festival, from March 10 till 23 March, in which cricket, Volley ball, football, Kabadi, Tag of war, speeches among Madrassa and Schools students, dog race, PT show and poetry session were conducted. During the last day of festival panic was created when a rocket was mistakenly fired by a security personnel on duty, due to which he was injured and shifted to a local hospital. Participants of the program and officers left their seats and were terrified. The program resumed when a security officer announced that a rocket was mistakenly fired by a security personnel and there was no need to panic. Levies and Khasadar forces presented special exercises on the occasion. Tribesmen assured their full cooperation to the administration and Pakistan government.
