The "1st ENT and head & neck surgery symposium" was inaugurated at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro yesterday at LUMHS campus. While addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor LUMHS Professor Noshad A Shaikh said that the department of ENT is dedicated to the diseases of the ear, nose and throat.
This super specialist surgical field takes care of all the problems of these very vital organs. Besides the non-surgical treatment plans, this department has been doing various surgical interventions for diseases of the head and neck in collaboration with Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons with modern technologies, the surgeries done at this department of LUMHS have yielded better results and early back to normal life of the patients.
He further said that the most important aspect of these symposiums and conferences is sharing and dissemination of knowledge and the utmost benefit is extended to the postgraduate students and the junior faculty.
The chief guest Professor Azam Hussain Youafani said that it is really satisfying to see the delegates from all over Sindh, especially practising in the rural areas, are also attending this symposium. In future the population of the remote rural areas of Sindh will not be deprived of good healthcare, he added.
