Expressing strong resolve to obey the apex court' awaited verdict in Panamagate case in letter and spirit, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan reiterated to play all the cards against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the issue of corruption.
Talking to Supreme Court correspondents in his Banigala residence, Khan stated that nobody is ready to believe in Qatari letter tale for money trail justification of Sharif family as the PTI has revealed the truth before the nation.
Khan alleged that Nawaz Sharif established business empire during his various regimes, saying being in power in KPK he could have also taken huge loans from Bank of Khyber while using his authority and build his business empire but he avoided doing so and has been struggling for eliminating the menace of corruption from the country.
Responding to a question if the court's verdict does not find Nawaz Sharif at fault in the matter, Imran Khan said then avoiding to pin on Panamagate, he will prefer to move for election reforms in order to ensure the next general election free and fair.
He further disclosed that PTI is working on election charter in the light of 40 findings of 'General Election 2013 Inquiry Commission' of Supreme Court and his party will demand the government to implement the charter for transparent elections in the country.
Admitting flaws in accountability mechanism in KPK, Khan informed that at the same time it is reality that there are exemplary reforms in education and police departments of the province, saying corruption at the ministerial level has been controlled.
Khan said that some required measures have not been taken to address weaknesses at grassroots level as he spent time in sit-in and then Panamagate case but at the same time he is confident that PTI will form next government in the KPK after which remaining tasks of social and infrastructure development would be achieved in the light of past experiences.
Khan was of the view that Karachi has a big vote bank for the PTI due to political insight as the voters are in search of alternate leadership for which he hinted at to launch a drive in Sindh province soon.
Responding to a question over establishing military courts in the country Khan termed the formation of military courts as failure of the government to implement National Action Plan for which PTI had to swallow a hard pill by supporting the military court, otherwise his party would have been blamed for avoiding support to efforts against militancy and terrorism in the country.
Dispelling an impression that he was not in favour of PSL final match in Lahore Imran Khan said that he is a cricket lover and has always emphasised regional cricket in the country for four decades, saying PSL final in Lahore in deployment of 30,000 security personals has given a wrong message to the world that international cricket is not possible under high security alert situation in Pakistan.
"It was not only I but Javed Miandad and Moshin Khan also opposed to hold PSL final in Lahore due to certain reasons which could harm the international cricket in the country due to security reasons. If all the PSL matches were not played in Pakistan then there was no need to arrange final match in Lahore," Imran Khan concluded.
