The Pakistan Super League-II (PSL-II) final in Lahore has given message of unity of Pakistan while cricket once again brought people together. Pakistani people have passion for cricket which gets people out of their homes, on streets, in cafes, in grounds, in foreign university clubs thousands of miles away from home to gather and unite together and enjoy the game.
Different politicians also made statements regarding the final match in Lahore.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq extended support to Peshawar Zalmi while Sheikh Rasheed who also witnessed match at Gadaffi Stadium also supported Zalmi.
Veteran politician Javed Hashmi, however, welcomed the return of cricket in Pakistan, saying that Imran Khan should go to the stadium to support cricket.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak was hopeful for Peshawar Zalmi's victory. He also sent two provincial ministers to Lahore for watching the match.
Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada said the PSL final in Lahore is the victory of government's resolve against extremism and terrorism. He said the successful conduct of the event has given a new impetus to the sports and cultural activities in the country.
Former PCB Chairman Khalid Mehmood, however, announced his support for Quetta Gladiator saying he expect that Quetta boys would show maturity in the game.
