Chief of Jamaat e Islami Pakistan, Sirajul Haq has appreciated the efforts for the revival of cricket in the country terming it a puff of fresh air in an atmosphere of tension, lawlessness and corruption. However, he said that the tickets were beyond the reach of the common people as the rulers had levied taxes even on games and sports.
According to media cell of JI Lahore, he was addressing a public meeting at Bannu on Sunday.
A number of prominent citizens of the area including Engr Jahangir, Haji Nek Muhammad, Nazim UC, Ismail Khel, Haji Akbar Khan, Qismat Khan, Nazim UC, Haji Sher Zareen announced their joining the JI on the occasion.
Sirajul Haq said that both the teams playing the PSL final were Pakistani and the victory of either would be a matter of joy for the nation. He said that the presence of foreigner players and officials at the match was a welcome sign.
He said that the rulers, both past and present had been busy in loot, had amasses billions and transferred the money to their foreign bank accounts.
However, he said that these plunderers could not deceive the nation any more as the nation, especially the youth was vigilant.
Sirajul Haq said that the country was facing a threat not from the general public but from the ruling clique that had been changing loyalties and political parties. He said the rulers were propagating regionalism due to which the country's ideology has become weaker.
He said that a campaign has begun against the Pakhtoons under the cover of terrorism. The rulers should keep it in mind that these Pakhtoons had liberated Azad Kashmir and they were the protectors of the western border.
