The Federal Minister Industries and Production, Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi has invited the private sector of Oman to join hands with the Pakistani counterparts for SME development in both countries. According to the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority spokesman, the minister extended this invitation at a meeting with the Omani Minister for Commerce and Industries, Dr Ali Bin Masoud al Sunaidy during his visit of Oman.
The meeting also attended by the Smeda's Head of External Relations Directorate Sheharyar Tahir discussed various proposals to strengthen industrial relations between the two sides. The Omani Minister Dr Ali Bin Masoud also expressed keen interest to expand industrial relations with Pakistan and stressed the need for sharing mutual experience in the field of SME development. To proceed further in this direction, both the ministers agreed to exchange SMEs delegations between the two countries.
Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi was briefed on Oman's SME development initiatives during his visit to Public Establishment for Industrial Estates. Omani side showed deep interest in strengthening bilateral relations in industry co-operation. Earlier, while speaking at a regional moot on SME Development, Jatoi said the Pakistan government has embarked upon an ambitious plan to boost the economy by making interventions in key areas for SME development and added that Smeda had been playing an important role in this regard.
