Chaudhry Salamat Ali, ex-Chairman, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMEA) (North Zone) has strongly demanded that the Sales Tax Refunds (STR) should be paid immediately to Value Added Textile Exporters as promised by Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif.
Commenting on the Sales Tax Refunds delay, he mentioned that Garments and Hosiery Industry is facing serious issues due to holding back millions of Rupees of Sales Tax Refunds; doing business in circumstances like this does not favour export oriented hosieries and fashion Garments manufacturers Units. Chaudhry Salamat Ali pointed out that Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif had directed FBR to pay off Sales Tax Refunds immediately, but his directions are yet to be implemented. In order to save Industry, he demanded that FBR should implement the decision immediately.
