Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan said on Thursday that the biggest problem of the country is that the people don't pay taxes to the government because they don't have trust in their rulers.
Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, he said the people sitting at the helm of affairs have their properties and other assets abroad, therefore, the people don't trust them.
The Qatari prince who gave letters to protect Sharif family in the Panamagate case is their business partner and it is a corruption to award contracts of billions of rupees to the business partners, he said.
Khan said that new documents are being manufactured to protect Sharifs while their lawyer in the Supreme Court has admitted that Prime Minister's daughter owned London flats for six months.
He also highlighted contradictions in statements of the Prime Minister and his children about the London flats.
Khan said the Sharifs' lawyer has been beseeching the court that this five-member bench cannot award punishment to the Prime Minister and his children.
The Sharifs' lawyer has asked the court to get the whole matter investigated from National Accountability Bureau, Federal Investigation Agency and Federal Board of Revenue, but the problem is that all these institutions come under the Prime Minister, he said.
The PTI chief alleged the Prime Minister lied on floor of the National
Assembly while giving a speech on ownership of Mayfair flats.
"The Prime Minister has been facing corruption charges in the Panamagate case and he also lied on the floor of the National Assembly," he added.
Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and with a purpose to establish a society based on justice and offering equal opportunities to all, he said, adding the founder of the country, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was believed to be an honest and upright person.
"It is mandatory for leader of a country to be honest and upright because he becomes custodian of the national exchequer," he said, adding the Sharifs have failed to present any money trail of how they purchased the Mayfair flats.
He said the Sharifs' lawyers have been trying their best to dissociate Maryam Safdar from the whole case, but their advocate Salman Akram Raja admitted in the court that she remained owner of the London flats.
Khan reiterated once again to accept judgement of the court in the case, saying this has been first time in history of the country that a chief executive is being held accountable for his corruption and misuse of authority.
