Pakistan summoned top Indian diplomat on Tuesday and lodged a strong protest over the ceasefire violation on Line of Control (LoC) resulted in loss of 3 soldiers. According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria, the Director General South Asia and SAARC, Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian forces.
He said that the unprovoked ceasefire violations were committed from 1055-1120 hours on February 13 on the LoC in Thub area (Bhimber Sector), resulting the martyrdom of 3 soldiers. "The deliberate targeting of civilians and soldiers is indeed condemnable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws," he said.
The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
